US stocks end higher with boost from Apple | REUTERS

US stocks closed higher, driven by a surge in Apple shares after the White House excluded smartphones and computers from new China tariffs. The S&P 500 and Dow both rose 0.8%, while the Nasdaq gained 0.6%.
